US 92 County Line Road from Amberjack Boulevard to Frontage Road (South) PD&E Study
KCA is performing feasibility and PD&E studies for this corridor, which is utilized by distribution, manufacturing, and transport facilities in the area. The CSX at County Line Road crossing is within the West Lakeland Freight Activity Center, and corridor users experience significant delays occurring from numerous gate closures at the CSX crossing. This project’s goal is to remove all vehicle and pedestrian conflicts with CSX at County Line Road. This project’s first phase is a feasibility study to evaluate environmental and engineering issues of alternatives developed that improve safety and traffic operations. Public involvement will include a kickoff newsletter, stakeholder coordination to identify concerns, and an alternatives public workshop to obtain recommendations. A feasible alternative developed that meets the purpose and need of the study can be advanced by FDOT to a PD&E study. The second phase is the PD&E Study to document the environmental and engineering analysis and preparation of a Type 2 CE. Public involvement will continue through the public hearing and provide the notice of LDCA along with documentation in the comments and coordination report.
