Environmental Solutions for Complex, Sensitive Projects

KCA’s environmental team provides comprehensive expertise in assessment, analysis, ecological restoration, mitigation design, and permitting for projects across the Southeast’s most sensitive natural environments. Our scientists have planned and overseen the construction of numerous habitat restoration projects and prepared Environmental Land Management Plans and Ecological Restoration Plans for a wide range of public and private clients.

We conduct natural resource inventories including floral and faunal surveys and develop monitoring programs for rare and protected species. Our team includes multiple Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC)–approved Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agents, providing specialized capabilities for wildlife assessment and relocation.

Proactive Permitting Support

KCA has permitted hundreds of civil and transportation projects and maintains strong working relationships with regulatory agencies such as water management districts, USACE, FDEP, DOTs, USCG, and county governments. Because we understand the lengthy and often complex permitting process, we take a proactive approach, initiating early coordination, holding frequent meetings with agencies, and addressing requests efficiently to keep projects on schedule.

Our staff also has extensive experience preparing Environmental Resource Permits (ERPs), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, and federal authorizations including Section 404 Dredge and Fill and Section 9/10 Bridge Permits. Through technical expertise and collaborative problem-solving, we help clients achieve full compliance while minimizing delays and navigating regulatory challenges with confidence.
