Ridge Road Extension – Phase 2B (Sunlake Boulevard to US 41) Phased Design-Build (PDB)
The Cone & Graham/KCA Team was selected by Pasco County (FL) to deliver Phase 2B of the Ridge Road Extension, the final and most complex segment of this critical east–west mobility corridor. Delivered through a phased design-build (PDB) approach, this project enhances regional connectivity, increases roadway capacity, and supports long-term growth in one of Pasco County’s fastest-developing areas.
Phase 2B includes the design and construction of a four-lane divided urban roadway featuring new retaining walls, stormwater and drainage systems, and multimodal improvements. A key structural element of the project is the construction of two new parallel steel plate girder bridges over the CSX rail corridor, providing a grade-separated crossing that improves safety and operational reliability.
Additional improvements include new traffic signals and intersection modifications at both Sunlake Boulevard and US 41, enhancing traffic flow and improving safety at these major crossroads. The project also delivers significant utility infrastructure, including installation of a 24-inch water main and 20-inch reclaimed water main, improving system reliability and supporting future development in the region.
Once complete, the Ridge Road Extension will serve as a vital hurricane evacuation route and a major east–west connection for residents, businesses, and emergency services—strengthening mobility and resilience throughout Pasco County.
