NCDOT Structures Management Unit NBIS Program

KCA has been performing NBIS inspections for NCDOT Structures Management Unit (SMU) since 2002 and has been under an Local Services Contract with SMU since 2004, and recently renewed our Limited Service Contract (LSC) with SMU in October 2023. Our Team completed 44 inspection task work orders under the previous contract and performed more than 900 inspections. KCA was able to inspect the largest bridge in the state (Virginia Dare Bridge) in January 2020 where our Team completed the inspection and report in record time for NCDOT. We have inspected bridges in nearly every county across the State as well as worked with many municipalities to complete inspections and complete load ratings through NCDOT’s inspection program.
