Airport Road Widening Project from Vanderbilt Beach Road to Immokalee Road
For this project, KCA intends to widen the Airport Road corridor for approximately 2-miles from Vanderbilt Beach Road to Immokalee Road into a six-lane divided, urban arterial roadway by adding an additional travel lane in each direction. The purpose of the project is to add capacity to the corridor and improve travel delay, emergency response times, and safety along the corridor in Collier County, FL. This will be accomplished through engineering design and environmental permitting for the Airport Road Widening Project. The project includes designing a six-lane divided, urban roadway with 11-foot travel lanes, 22-foot raised median, curb and gutter and sidewalks on both sides, a closed drainage system, street lighting, box culvert modifications, and a new traffic signal at the intersection of Curling Avenue. KCA is providing the following services: roadway design and analysis; drainage design and analysis; miscellaneous structures design and analysis; traffic signal design and analysis; lighting analysis and design; signing and pavement markings (S&PM); environmental permitting (SFWMD, BCB, USACOE); public involvement; and Noise Wall Impact Assessment (NWIA).
