Comprehensive Noise Analysis for PD&E and Design Projects

KCA’s Noise Specialists provide precise, defensible noise studies that support transportation projects through every phase of the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) and Design process. Our team has developed Noise Study Reports and addendums for FDOT PD&E studies, County studies, and FDOT reevaluations—helping agencies make informed, compliant decisions that balance mobility, community needs, and environmental considerations.

We apply industry-standard modeling tools, proven FDOT methodologies, and hands-on engineering expertise to evaluate existing and future noise conditions and determine appropriate mitigation strategies. Our analyses are grounded in rigorous technical review and clear communication with project stakeholders.

Services

  • Identifying potential impacts: Modeling and assessing existing and future noise levels to determine where impacts occur and whether mitigation is warranted.
  • Evaluating noise barriers: Analyzing feasibility, cost-reasonableness, and effectiveness of potential noise walls or berms as part of the NEPA and design process.
  • Engaging the public: Gathering community input on perceived noise concerns, communicating study methodologies, and incorporating public feedback into barrier evaluations.
  • Conducting engineering reviews: Assessing design constraints, maintenance considerations, right-of-way impacts, and constructability to ensure recommended barriers can be built and function as intended.

KCA delivers clear, defensible noise analyses that support agency decision-making and help transportation projects advance with confidence.
