This 1.180-mile-long KCA project consisted of milling, resurfacing, and widening SR 21 from a 4-lane divided roadway to a 6-lane divided roadway, as well as the reconstruction of CR 218 east of SR 21. This reconstruction involved replacing the existing CR 218 bridge over the south fork of Black Creek (Bridge No. 710045). The Typical Section for the 282-foot-long, 92-foot-wide, three-span replacement bridge (Bridge No. 714066) consisted of four, 12-foot travel lanes with a 15.5-foot traffic separator, 5-foot bike lanes, and 6.5-foot raised sidewalks. Two new ponds were constructed to accommodate the new stormwater management system and the project received updated vehicular and pedestrian signalization at the CR 218, Parsonage Street, Everett Avenue, and Palmetto Street intersections.
