KCA acted as the prime consultant, providing Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for this project, which was a unique design-build (D/B) involving rehabilitation and superstructure replacement of a historic arch bridge built in 1927. The contract also involved construction of NC 24/27 from NC 740 in Albemarle to east of the Pee Dee River. Both projects included grading, drainage, paving, culverts, signing, and signals.

This project received the Engineering News-Record (ENR) Southeast Best Project award in the Highway/Bridge category.
